We are very pleased to be collaborating with the Orpheus Centre this Spring, and hosting a concert in support of their work.
We’re very lucky to be welcoming acclaimed concert pianist Tom Poster to Finchcocks. Tom is a musician whose skills and passions extend well beyond the conventional role of the concert pianist. Tom features regularly on BBC Radio 3 and has made multiple appearances at the BBC Proms, and his exceptional versatility has put him in great demand at festivals across the world. He has been described as “a marvel, [who] can play anything in any style” (The Herald), “mercurially brilliant” (The Strad), and as having “a beautiful tone that you can sink into like a pile of cushions” (BBC Music).
The concert itself will be held in the 300 year old main house at Finchcocks, and will feature both solo performances by Tom, as well as a performance by two very talented Orpheus students: Theo, a current student at Orpheus and a talented xylophone player, and Orpheus alumna Sandra Gayer, an outstanding soprano singer, both accompanied by Jeanne Kalorkoti.
The programme:
Beethoven Piano Sonata in C sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2 “Moonlight” [15’]
