Jasmine started her journey at Finchcocks as resident pianist for Summer 2022, tutoring the Nichols’ children in piano and singing, and hosting piano courses.
Jasmine is an accomplished ballet and contemporary dancer, having recently completed an MA in Dance, researching the relationship between dance and music. She is also a versatile singer. While at Cambridge University, she performed with the Musical Theatre society and sang in Trinity College Choir. She loves singing Gershwin, Mendelssohn and Schubert, and she is always happy to help any guests who would like to practise accompanying!
The piano is primarily a source of enjoyment for Jasmine. Recently, she has been working on Chopin’s Fantasy Impromptu and Ballade No.1, although her favourite piece is the slow movement from Shostakovich’s second piano concerto.
As a course host, Jasmine is there to make sure everyone is comfortable and able to enjoy their time at Finchcocks. She might even provide Saturday evening entertainment – dancing or singing, accompanied by the wonderful piano tutors on the Bösendorfer!
In between singing, dancing and playing the piano, Jasmine enjoys reading about quantum mechanics, going on long bike rides in the sun and walking her family dog.
