We’ve had a team of contractors working day and night over the past few months, and we’re very pleased to announce that the Coach House is now open for business.
New plumbing, heating and electrical systems have been installed, in addition to ten new bathrooms and nine new bedrooms. We’ve managed to keep nearly all of the period features, from the ceiling joist to an 18th century feeder trough, which was carefully relocated and which now has pride of place in bedroom two. We’ve also had specialist lime plasterers in to conserve and repair as much of the original plastering as possible, not to mention some very skilful bricklayers and roofers who have done a fabulous jobs of sourcing reclaimed materials to match the patina of the original 18th century materials.
We’ve also had to build a new boiler house, and construct a 120m trench to get all of the water and heat services running to the right place.
Renovations will start on the main house in earnest, with a view to launching our first course in November.
