    Directions

    to Finchcocks

    Trains

    45 mins from London

There are good train connections from London. Trains leave Charing Cross, then pass through Waterloo East and London Bridge. and leave London every 30 mins.

You have two stations you can travel to. Paddock Wood is closer to Finchcocks but more rural with fewer taxi options. It takes about 45 mins from London Bridge or about 54 mins from Charing Cross to Paddock Wood. Once you get to Paddock Wood, you’ll need to get a taxi to Finchcocks (nearest village is Goudhurst, but most of the taxi drivers know the house). Taxis cost £25-30 and take 15 – 20 minutes. There are usually taxis available in the Tonbridge rank, but its advisable to book one in advance from Paddock Wood. We recommend Tim on 07745 529354 or Giresh on 07881 811805.

The journey to Tonbridge is shorter and usually offers fast trains and taxis waiting in the rank outside. It takes about 35 mins from London Bridge or about 45 mins from Charing Cross to Tonbridge. Once you get to Tonbridge, you’ll need to get a taxi to Finchcocks (nearest village is Goudhurst, but most of the taxi drivers know the house). Taxis cost £35-40 and take 20 – 25 minutes. There are usually taxis available in the Tonbridge rank, but if you’d to book one in advance, we recommend Tim on 07745 529354 or Giresh on 07881 811805.

    Your return

We have a complimentary taxi booked for the end of the course for those who need to return to Tonbridge station. Your course host should check who needs this during your stay. However, please also mention it to them upon arrival. It is paid for by Finchcocks and cancelled by Finchcocks if not needed.

    Planes

    1 hour from Gatwick

For overseas visitors, the nearest airport is Gatwick, which is about a 50 minute drive with good traffic. If you would like picking up, we recommend a very nice local driver Tim (07745 529354) who charges £90 from Gatwick, or car hire is available in the terminal. Trains from Gatwick are via London (Gatwick has a direct line into Victoria, then underground to Charing Cross). Heathrow is about about 1h 30 mins by car, £120 in Tim’s taxi (07745 529354) or by train to Paddington then underground to Charing Cross.

    Automobiles

    Just off the A262

Driving to Finchcocks is relatively straightforward. If you put our postcode TN17 1HH into Google maps, this takes you straight to the door. Older Sat Navs aren’t so accurate! The best route is via the A21. From there, take the turning onto the A262 in the direction of Goudhurst. After about two miles (just before you get to Goudhurst), turn right just after an oast building. There are several signposts here for Finchcocks. Continue along the private drive for a mile and before long you’ll see the manor house. Turn into the main gate and then take the right fork, driving straight onto the rear car park where you’ll see some outbuildings on your right. An electric charger is available from this outbuilding.
