Beginners’ weekend with David Hall

We’ve had a lot of interest from Beginner pianists who weren’t quite ready for a Lower Intermediate course, but who are very keen to come on a course at Finchcocks!
This course is just for those very pianists. If you’re a beginner, perhaps 6-9 months into learning, through to grade 2, this weekend is the one for you!
Run by the brilliant David Hall FRCO guests will enjoy an inclusive, relaxed and encouraging environment to launch their new passion.
During the weekend, guests will take part in two interactive workshops:
- Getting to know the piano – note naming & scales
- Reading the dots – treble clef, bass clef and rhythms
They’ll also:
- Play have the chance to play to each other and learn from each other’s playing. Debut performances and mistakes are very welcome!
- Delve deeper into performance technique, posture and pedalling.
This course is open for complete beginners right through to grade 2. Everyone arrives at there own point along their piano journey, and all guests love to see each other’s progress during the weekend. They also love the chance to play on a fleet of wonderful grand pianos!
In between the interactive workshop and informal performance sessions there will be time for private practice on one of our beautiful grand pianos. During these sessions, David will circulate and give one-to-one advice, individual pointers and tips.
On the Saturday evening, the class can sit back in front of the fire with a glass of wine – and be inspired as their tutor plays for them in the main hall of the family home!
