Rounding off the Finchcocks Festival in true style, we are thrilled to welcome back British concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith to the Finchcocks outdoor stage with an afternoon of Chopin & champgne.

Warren performed the complete solo works of Chopin from memory in 2015-16 at St John’s Smith Square.  This amounts to 230+ separate titles and approximately 3.5 million notes! He continues to keep all those notes active in his extremely popular concert series Chopin & champagne hosted at the 1901 Arts Club, London and prominent cathedrals across the country.

The programme will include:

Ballades No. 1 & 4, Nocturnes in C & Eb, Military Polonaise, Fantasy impromptu, Revolutionary etude, Raindrop prelude and the Minute Waltz.
  • Doors will open at 2pm. Music will begin at 3pm and finish at 5pm.
  • Please feel free to bring picnic rugs and picnics.
  • Charity cash donations bar will be available.
  • Well behaved dogs and humans welcome.
  • Parking available in the front field.
  • Accessibilty: Gravel paths, no steps. Please inform us if you require closer parking. Facilities are at groundfloor level.
  • The event will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather, with full refunds being offered.

Audience numbers are limited to 200. Tickets are on sale for £20 per adult and under 16s £10 each. All profits will be split between local good causes and Help Musicians.

In 2016 Warren Mailley-Smith became the first British pianist to perform Chopin’s complete works for solo piano from memory in a series of 11 recitals at St John’s Smith Square. Hailed by the critics as an “epic achievement”, Mailley-Smith will repeat the series at several venues in 2021.

He has given acclaimed solo recitals at The Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and has performed for the British Royal Family on numerous occasions. One of the busiest concert pianists of his generation and will give over 100 solo performances next season.

His career has taken him all over the world, with solo performances in Australia, Europe and most recently solo tours in China and the USA. He is a popular soloist on the London concert scene and performs regularly in music societies, festivals, schools and concert halls throughout the uk and abroad and as guest artist on several of the world’s most famous cruise liners.

He has 30 piano concertos in his repertoire, having made his concerto debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

His recordings have been featured by Classic FM as CD of the Week and are featured regularly on Classic FM and the BBC.

He is also an active chamber musician and is the Artistic Director of the Piccadilly Chamber Music Series and The Piccadilly Sinfonia
